Sarah J. Blake,
This blog began as an attempt to help people to understand my experience of living with disabilities. Over time, it has become a place where I share my thoughts about current events, theology, my experiences as a seminary student, and many other things. All of these things play a part in my experience as a person with disabilities; and my experiences as a person with disabilities shape my thoughts and experiences in these other areas. I hope that reading my entries is encouraging and/or educational. If you leave a comment on an older entry, please bear in mind that my thoughts and feelings about some matters have done a good deal of refining over the years and the entry may not reflect my current thinking.

Oh I'm laughing! And I needed a good laugh!
travellight posted some migraine myths in the
migraines community. Well, not myths... Things people say to someone with migraines. I thought I'd post them and react--I'm good at that, you know...

This is a neat site: http://crabbiemasters.com. The official program appears to be designed for use with very young kids, but the principle is great and worth examining. It pretty much represents my philosophy about child care/teaching/parenting. Thanks,
duponthumanite, for introducing me to the Crabbies. This could be a fun thing to work with depending on my crowds in the future--most of my current crowd is a bit old for the activities on the site but not for the concepts.

Listen if you're brave... A friend is here, accusing me in public of being abnormal. It's quite amusing, but if you're grossed out easily by discussion of surgeries, don't say we didn't warn you. I desperately needed a humor break!

Something to think about...
Read this post from
duponthumanite and comment on it in your journal--and let her know that you've done it and you came from my journal.
I'm a bit overwhelmed reading the linked site at the moment. I'll post my response tomorrow... If I try to do it now, I will do something I don't have the freedom yet to do: cry. No crying until I can--you know--blow my nose. Less than 11 hours! Woo hoo!
