This blog began as an attempt to help people to understand my experience of living with disabilities. Over time, it has become a place where I share my thoughts about current events, theology, my experiences as a seminary student, and many other things. All of these things play a part in my experience as a person with disabilities; and my experiences as a person with disabilities shape my thoughts and experiences in these other areas. I hope that reading my entries is encouraging and/or educational. I went to Detroit on Monday for an endoscopic exam on my left eye. The back of the eye has never been visible due to extensive damage to the cornea (scarring and calcium deposits) that prevents doctors from seeing inside.

Inca and I are having a disagreement of sorts. I want to go to bed... Well, not really, but I need to go to bed. She thinks it would be a fine idea if I stayed awake and petted her in the living room all night. Cuteness! This was a nightly routine when we lived in Florida and there was a lot of activity in the house... She liked her evening quiet time... It seems I may have to institute it again... Not that Alexis and I are loud; but Inca's getting a bit more stimulation now than she's accustomed to.
For now, I petted for five minutes, and now I win the game. Bed.

Now is the time for me to write a very very long entry and attempt to put together a lot of things that may not seem to make much sense by themselves, because I am beginning to see some connections. We will see if the thunderstorms allow me to write... Thankfully, I have the save draft feature!
