the cat litter saga

I may yet win the war with the litter box...

Remember my post about TidyCat's formula changes, which I thought I had all figured out?

I was wrong. I can't seem to find any formula now that works in my self-cleaning box. And what do you know? I look at the Littermaid site and discover...

TidyCat isn't even a recommended brand for these boxes!

I am now armed with a bag of World's Best Cat litter. It's very pricy. I put a bit of it in with the existing litter just to see what it would do with the non-clumps...

The non-clumps started clumping and popping off the bottom of the box. No scrubbing needed! If this trend continues, pricy will pay for itself, and my kitties will be happy kitties and their mommy will be very happy mommy.

A self-cleaning litter box... what I wouldn't give for one of those! :)

self-cleaning box
They're expensive but very worth the money. I think mine was $125. With the right kind of litter, they last years. I went through three of them last year due to the litter problem and the fact that I messed up and overfilled, and when I scrubbed the box out I didn't dry it out well enough. But the current one has been running nicely since May, and the one I had in Florida ran for two years. They're super for my allergies--much better than either the covered box or the sifter box I've tried.
