sad news

It is a sad day.

My favorite author died yesterday. I must read books now. But theology calls.

Here is a link to a news article.

I just saw a mention about it on the news. This makes me so sad; her books, especially A Wrinkle in Time, are my go-to books when I'm sad or worried or scared. *sighs*

Tis sad indeed. I read A Wrinkle in Time in 7th grade and would love to go back and read it again. Perhaps I'll look for an audio torrent and do so in her honor.

I loved her books! She wrote some other ones that weren't for kids that I haven't ever read though. that being said, I have on occasion read one of the Wrinkle in Time books (or some times that one) as an adult so I guess you cannot really just call them for kids. hehheh I reread the Meet the Austins series back last year just for the heck of it. Silly I suppose but I don't care. Very sad indeed!

Madeleine's "children's books"
Madeleine never thought of her own books as "for children." Her ideas about writing always fascinated me. She thought that children were much more open-minded than adults. I tend to think she was right. I often re-read her books. Her nonfiction is extremely thought-provoking.

Re: Madeleine's "children's books"
This is true. I have read lots of stuff about her over the years but forgot about that fact. How funny it is that people will term them "children's" books. They certainly are a lot different than the books that are out there that really do seem to be "children's" books.

I loved her....
I grew up with her stories. I read every one of them more times that I can count. Each time I re-read them, I found something I'd missed the previous reading. She was so imaginative and was able to bring the pages to life.
