For those who have morbid curiosity, here is the sound of the Ike remnant in Indiana, which is rather reminiscent of the Frances remnant over St. Petersburg in 2004. It's a bit creepy. I let the traffic and wind sounds go for a minute or so and then did a bit of commentary.
From my local paper...
At 4 p.m., the Indianapolis International Airport reported winds gusting at 63 mph. The Madison County Emergency Management monitor at Linwood recorded a gust at 58 mph.
Several trees have been reported down in Madison County, and power lines are down in scattered areas. At 4:30 p.m., Madison County EMA confirmed that the entire town of Pendleton was without power.
Residents are advised to secure outdoor furniture and other items that could be picked up by the winds.
Drivers are advised to use extreme caution.
Here is another Ike remnant, recorded while letting dogs out around 4:30.
