http://www.afb.org/blog there is a link to and discussion of a recently published article in the New York Times regarding the author's interview of a blind applicant for a position as a line cook. I can't believe I even read the whole thing. My first thought was that the person obviously needed some nonvisual skills training; but more importantly I can't believe the NY Times printed something so incredibly negative. As a seven-year job-seeker, I absolutely dread the impact this will have on those of us who have adequate skills and self-presentation. It won't matter what we do because employers have been exposed to such negative presentations about blindness!
