anxiety remedy

It's amazing how little anxiety I experience while I am composing music! I wish I was at home with the keyboard! Paper or no paper, songs must be rough-drafted. This is something about next semester that absolutely must change: I must leave room in my schedule for music. I think that maybe this is a good part of what has been wrong with me lately.

Music is very therapeutic. I wish I had the ability to compose it, but I guess I'll just have to settle for blasting my favorite band when I'm feeling anxious. *grin*

As you may or not be aware, I used to be a music therapy major in college and music has always been a huge part of my life. I've rcently changed my major to special education starting next semester, but in the mean time I'm in all general education classes like math/anthropology/chemistry etc. I stayed in concert choir, though, and I also joined Madrigal Singers. These two ensembles have seriously been my saving grace in my busy days. I love singing and these large groups allow me to enjoy it while still keeping my technical stuff in practice. Those of us who truly feel the music inside us need it in order to feel ballanced, and I'm only beginning to realize what you've said in your entry.
