Star Trek and other fandom

For Star Trek enthusiasts, it might be a bit fun to get lost in the timelime at Wikipedia. (I've had a bit too much time on my hands lately while coping with H Pylori bacteria.) A person could really get a bit lost/obsessed with this stuff.

A question to ponder: Can a person manage Star Trek fandom along with LOTR fandom and Narnia fandom at the same time? Perhaps this is why I cannot afford to immerse myself in true fandom ... and why I have not bothered to read Harry Potter. At some point, one really has to emerge from the world of fandom and get back to everyday life--and manage the entry into fandom so that everyday life remains a priority.

I'm not a Trecke by any stretch of the imagination, but I do think it's cool that they have the time line on Wiccopedia! I love stuff like that... I'm nerdy and have no problem admitting it LOL Enjoy the rest of your day!!

I used to be very deep into Star Wars fandom during high school and early college. Then I had to quit because of lack of time (and, well, okay, the newer movies didn't really cut it for me, either, although that's not enough to make me dislike the SW universe). Every once in a while I'll browse a SW site or pick up a book in Chapters, but it's hard to be a "real fan" with so little time.

Since I've also discovered LOTR and Babylon 5 which I can get equally lost in and would love to get deeper into, but again, lack of time ...

As someone fairly deep into...many many fandoms, things can still be managed quite well, as long as it doesn't run your life. I was never into the space type fandoms, but they always have sounded interesting.

I've noticed that I consider myself apart of several fandoms, but really only active in one or two depending on my current interests. I agree that you need to keep a handle on your priorities, which, admittedly, isn't something I've always been the best at.
