preparing for the new semester

Getting ready for a new semester means that I reevaluate the morning routine--and all the other routines. Because of all the time I've spent on languages and resting up from coping with the impact of treatment for H Pylori (antibiotics make me pretty sick), I have not gotten all of my scanning done. I'm not terribly worried about it at this point. I did get the ethics books done; and they were the biggest ones. Everything else can be done in bits.

Inca has been pretty sick as well. Perhaps she has H Pylori. (I'm kidding, though a vet trip may be in order.) I've been doing the pumpkin routine not so faithfully. She will eat it whether I sit with her or not; but I do think that Inca is extremely sensitive to the emotional situation in the house and how stressed/rushed I am. That makes at least three stress-prone animals (Inca, Sierra, and Loretts) in the house. I wouldn't be surprised if Sable had her own version. She has a habit of banging on the back door, and I notice it is less evident when she gets some form of attention and/or I am nice and relaxed.

How to manage the "family" stress... I'm still trying to manage to eat!

I might have hit on something this morning... Dad sliced up some apples for me, and I stored them in lemon juice so that I could munch when I felt up to it. So I gave Inca her pumpkin and sat in with her with my apple slices. Sierra sat up on the couch with me for a few minutes. After that was all over, I fed Loretta. Whether this will actually help Inca is anybody's guess. Inca IS 12.5 years old, and I'm aware that she's just maybe not going to feel well a lot of the time anymore. The vet never seems worried about her health. Casey had periodic vomiting for the last six or seven years of her life. It's just difficult to see it happening to Inca.

Meg and Loretta got baths yesterday. Laundry is getting done today. Laundry seems to be a never-ending task!

The good news is that I seem to be getting a bit more energy. I think that whatever was going on with my stomach must have been taking an awful lot out of me physically. I've had no trouble going up and down the stairs except a bit of knee pain. I had pain after bathing the dogs; but not the kind of pain that makes me want to sleep the day away. This is a significant improvement.

I am sorry Inca is sick. I hope she will feel better and that she does not have to go to the vet.
Then you said:
Laundry seems to be a never-ending task!
Here here! It's the same around my house too.

Aww, sorry your kitties are under the weather. I was actually on your site yesterday looking at your kitty pictures! They are adorable. I do have a soft spot for black kitties.

Dog baths is happening this coming weekend, since I rather wait for enough time for Frontline and all that to sink into Nixon. I don't do this often, since it is only done prior to traveling, where fleas/heartworm, etc is an issue... Our area is not necessary.

Glad to hear you are finding more energy... sending some of my crazy energy your way.
